MRISAR's Interactive Tech Art; Mini Photonic Spectrum Exhibit
A low cost, but very high quality portable mini version of one of our most popular touch interactive science exhibits. Our first prototype of this was created in 1985. In 2000 we began creating exhibit grade versions. This exhibit utilizes a series of photo resistors to control a sound synthesizer. The sound synthesizer consists of two oscillators which work in unison by resonating at specific intervals dependent on the signals from the sensors. The exhibit features columns that house the sensors and an acrylic crystal that house led lights that react to the presence of a user’s hands over the columns. The geometry of the exhibit accents an otherworldly appeal that will excite the user’s interest. One or two people can operate the Photonic Spectrum Portable Mini at a time. To use the exhibit a visitor needs to gesture with their hands over the columns. Depending on the position of their hands the exhibit can produce sounds ranging from the high frequency to low. The exhibit demonstrates sound synthesis, sensors and light control and comes with an educational booklet. The exhibit operates on rechargeable battery power or when purchased with an optional floor base on AC power. Many colors are available to compliment your preference. The exhibit is approximately 20” wide and 11" high. A Solar powered version is available and/or an optional floor base at additional cost. Contact us for price information.
