Photonic Sound Synthesizer Portable Mini Version BP (Electronic Art That Teaches Elements Of Electrical & Electronic Science)
This exhibit utilizes a series of photo resistors to control a sound synthesizer. The sound synthesizer consist of two oscillators which work in unison by resonating at specific intervals dependent on the signals from the sensors. The exhibit features columns that house the sensors that react to the presence of a user’s hands over the columns. The geometry of the exhibit accents an otherworldly appeal that will excite the user’s interest. One or two people can operate the Photonic Spectrum Portable Mini at a time. To use the exhibit a visitor needs to gesture with their hands over the columns. Depending on the position of their hands the exhibit can produce sounds ranging from the high frequency to low. The exhibit demonstrates sound synthesis, and sensors. It comes with an educational booklet. The exhibit operates on rechargeable battery power or when purchased with an optional floor base, on AC power. The exhibit is approximately 20” wide and 11" high. Preordered units are manufactured in this span and ship out late 2020. Click here to view images of our larger portable version. Click here to view images of our floor standing version. Portable Mini Touch Spectrum Exhibit
A low cost, but very high quality portable mini version of one of our most popular touch interactive science exhibits. In on-location applications at schools the response to our touch sensitive sound and light generators has been so great that the exhibits seemed to practically disappear under droves of children who delighted in its sound response to their touch and how it can transfer its sense of touch sound response between students when they shake hands. Its educational merits include, sound, light, electricity, electronics and electrical safety. It comes with an educational booklet covering aspects of education relating to each of the main educational points of interest and providing examples of experiments that can be done with the device. The exhibit combines touch switch technology with a complement of tonal sound effects. To further accent the exhibit, it is equipped with LED lights in a faceted illuminated form on top of the device that relates in action to approximations of amplitude and frequency. The exhibit can be used on an optional stand or on a table top. It is usable and view able from all six sides. The more students that operate it at the same time the deeper the notes it makes. Each side features a touch plate. The device operates on rechargeable battery power or when purchased with an optional floor base on AC power. Many colors are available to compliment your preference. The exhibit is approximately 28” diameter and 10" high. A Solar powered version is available and/or an optional floor base at additional cost. Click here for more information and images!

This is a technological, interactive, responsive exhibit that allows the user to become part of the exhibit as it reacts differently to people by creating various sound patterns depending on the individual’s conductivity. The device conducts a small electrical signal, which turns on an oscillator, which creates sound patterns. As more users touch the plates the sounds develop deep tonal qualities that are reminiscent of musical notes. Optionally many people can use the device together in a number of ways such as having one person touch the large plate and another person touch a small plate and then in turn touch their remaining hands together. Additional people can be added to form a chain between the two users who are touching the large and small plates. The key is to make sure you are touching each other’s skin for conductivity to take place. Figuratively in electrical terms, think of the Large Touch Plate as its positive terminal and the Small Touch Plates as its negative terminal and your body as its conductive wire. We originally designed and fabricated this exhibit in 1993. It is an exciting educational exhibit that delights both young and old. It is of moderate weight for portability, easy to use and extremely durable. The five-sided design makes it adaptable to fill inner floor spaces and to work with both single users and groups. This device uses an Optoelectric Isolated Power Supply (LED Light source and Solar Panel) to power a touch sensitive oscillator, creating a low voltage, ultra-low current signal, to harmlessly pass through the human body to activate its circuit, thus producing sound patterns. This illustrates how energy can be converted from electric to photonic back to electric, stored and utilized electrochemically, then oscillated and converted into an IR signal and back again into an electrical signal and then amplified. The exhibit touch circuit operates on a totally isolated power supply at approx. 6 VDC and requires a grounded 120 V AC outlet. A Solar powered version is available upon request. The text supplied on the exhibit discusses theory, technology and applications. This exhibit is an example of alternative energy, sensory inputs and reactionary effects in electronic systems, conductivity, timing and randomizing theory, visual and wave length specific electromagnetic emissions, photons, sound synthesis, frequency and amplitude, acoustics, touch switch technology, energy conversion, photovoltaic and photonic science, electrical conductance and oscillator theory. Size is 36" diameter x 36" high. Available in a wide range of color options (included as part of the exhibit cost). Selections consist of standard colors in Wilsonart, Formica, Pionite, Nevamar. Options for almost any application. Please use the form at the bottom of this page or email your color preferences. We do not include metal laminates in the base price. Cybermatrix: tic-tac-toe Human VS. Robot
Cybermatrix: tic-tac-toe, Human VS. Robot Exhibit! Can a Human win a game of tic-tac-toe against a Robot! The Cybermatrix Robotic Exhibit is based on the old game of Tic-Tac-Toe. The control panel on the exhibit affords the museum visitor the chance to interact with Cybermatrix in an entertaining, challenging and educational format. Once the start button is pushed the robot arm picks an “X” then the human user makes an “O” move. Then Cybermatrix compares the move that has already been made by the human user to the board options for possible moves then signals its robotic arm to seek an available square. When the square is in sight of the arm, its robotic finger selects Cybermatrix's move by striking the board sensor with the finger magnet. The game continues until time runs out or until the game is won or tied. This robotic arm is totally open framed for educational viewing which relates to STEM. Approximate size of case is 72" high x 34" wide x 44" deep.
