MRISAR's Teleoperated Base 5 Finger Robotic Arm Exhibit
This 5 finger Robot Arm Exhibit interfaces with a Teleoperated Control Console. The Teleoperated Arm Exhibit has an electromechanical robot arm that measure approximately 39” long from the tip of the fingers to the base of the shoulder pivot assembly. This arm is controlled directly from an attached Teleoperated Control Console through remote viewing. The Teleoperated Console contains a viewing screen and controls. The screen shows a remote view of the movements of the robotic arm that its controls operate.
The arm has nine ranges of motion, with movement in all 5 fingers. The arm has pressure sensitive and end of travel limits, and can adapt to any arrangement of objects stacked in its path. It is made of light weight 6061 Aluminum. This arm is totally open framed for educational viewing and based closely on the proportions of an actual human arm. It is especially designed with safety features and force limits. The exhibit is designed to be visually stunning, educational and usable by virtually any age of museum visitor. As with all of our robotics exhibits this exhibit also conveys a wide variety of elements that are important to STEM education. Each side of the upper frame of the exhibit is a window made of clear poly-carbonate to make it visible from all sides. The exhibit is configured as a demonstration arm to illustrate remote handling applications for robotics. Remote handling robots are used by industry, aerospace and commercial establishments to extend human capabilities in hazardous situations. The exhibit also provides hands on activities based on Telepresence Robotic Manipulation technology which encompasses devices for transmitting movements to a remote robotic device, allowing the manipulation of objects that are too heavy, dangerous, small, or in other respects too difficult to handle directly. This exhibit is view able from all sides making it ideal for mid floor locations. We will build a complete exhibit including a quality built electronic-electromechanical robot arm, fully enclosed exhibit cases for the arm and teleoperated console, support electronics, camera, monitor, visual support materials, maintenance information and schedule, activities and control panel. Approximate size of the main case is 72" high x 40" wide x 40" deep. Approximate size of the teleoperated console is 33" wide x 45" deep x 72" high. Exhibits are available in a wide variety of colors. This exhibit is also available in kit form, which includes all the components except the case! Click here to view the kit page!
