MRISAR's Robotic Greenhouse Exhibit
This particular exhibit is in the process of development!
A miniature Chibi-chan robot checks and maintains a real indoor greenhouse environment. This exhibit is a fun representation of possible uses for robotics in agriculture applications for space. Between occasional watering the robot also moves along a rail system to inspect the plants. The enclosure is made of light-weight aluminum framing and clear durable polycarbonate. Color portions are laminated ply and have several color options. The buttons trigger comments by Chibi-chan about what she is doing and details about some robotic applications. Rail guided Chibi-chan the Robot Gardner is like an animated art sculpture in the sense that the domed crystals change color, enhancing its appearance and providing an otherworldly, futuristic feel. The robot’s main sections are transparent, affording an interesting and festive view into the interior, which is decoratively fortified with numerous bright light emitting diodes, which grace the printed circuit boards within. As with all of our robotics exhibits this exhibit also conveys a wide variety of elements that are important to STEM education. Approximately 72" high x 8 ft wide x 35" deep.
