MRISAR's Robotic Table Tennis Exhibit
Human vs. Robot!
Human vs. Robot! Challenge Yourself!
Play against a robot to test your skills of dexterity and speed against this system of sensors, electronics and robotics engineering. The robot uses elements of sensors and triangulation to counter your movements. The Human vs. Robot challenge! See who can score the most points during a timed interval, the human or the robot! By pushing the Challenge Button, a countdown timer starts for both the robot and human users. Sensors and relays keep track of where the ball passes and a digital display counter registers it. When the timer stops a readout shows the score to see who won, the Robot or the human! The robot arm has predetermined movements, force, and speed engineered elements that are designed into the mechanical, electrical, electronic and logic based systems to perform this task. A graphic panel relates how this robots automated systems are similar and yet different to a human’s systems and capabilities. This relates to STEM education. This is highly educational and visually stunning. The exhibit is view-able from all sides making it an ideal mid-floor device. Enclosure is made of light-weight aluminum framing and clear durable poly-carbonate. The arm has pressure sensitive and end of travel limits. It is especially designed with safety features and force limits. The arm is usable for any age range of visitor. It is made of light weight 6061 Aluminum. The arm is protected by limit controls and spring loaded for shock. The limit controls use simple logic to avoid over travel, as opposed to expensive and hard to repair computer guided systems. The exhibit is configured as a demonstration arm to illustrate handling applications for robotics. This complete exhibit includes an electronic-electromechanical robot arm mounted to a tennis table, outer enclosed frame or cage, support electronics, activity, visual support materials, maintenance information and schedule. Approximately 7 ft high x 6.5" wide x 17 ft. long.
